A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, winning just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first trophy since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's defensive play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a final set.

He saved four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner secured the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
